Biography
Vercessi retired from the U.S. Navy with the grade of captain after concluding a 27-year career. In his final assignment, he held the post of Chief of Public Information for NATO’s southern European command, headquartered in Naples, Italy. Among his many military and civilian awards and commendations, he received the highly coveted Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil Award for his work on environmental issues while serving in San Diego. Since retiring, he has written four novels, a guide for authors wishing to publish on the Internet, a children's Christmas story, as well as developing and co-producing the MGM/Showtime drama, The Silver Strand, featuring Nicolette Sheridan and Gil Bellows. He is currently working on "Iceman", the story of Jerzy Shore, the star Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) cold case sleuth and Feng Shui disciple who finds himself an unwitting player in a high stakes game of political poker run by top Pentagon brass intent on winning at all costs. Among his many current associations, Vercessi is a member of the Authors Guild, the National Press Club, in Washington, D.C., the Virginia Writers Club, the American Legion, and the U.S. Navy Public Affairs Alumni Association. |
